A showcase of the better known songs from the band's incredibly innovative 'studio years' - beginning with 1967's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and running through Let It Be. Also known as the 'blue album', 1967-70 is a double disc set having identical tracks lists in the UK and US versions. The original LP releases included lyrics printed on the album sleeves. Amazingly, just before the release of this and its counterpart, The Beatles 1962-66, advanced pirated copies were being sold on TV as the Alpha Omega Series vol. 1-3, and for a time Capitol countered in their advertising as offering "official releases". It is unknown why, but the version of "Hello Goodbye" included here is presented in mono on the US versions.
